Youngstock Show 2025
Sunday 23 November 2025 saw the Pony Breeders of Shetland Association’s thirteenth Youngstock Show, held at the Lerwick Marts. Despite the poor weather in the week prior show morning turned out to be much brighter than anticipated with a good turnout of exhibitors from all across Shetland. Jem Roberts from Unst found her Youngstock Champion in Merkisayre Diamond, 3 year old standard filly, owned by the Merkisayre Stud from Burra, and Reserve Champion in Drumnagair Aria, 2 year old standard filly, also owned by Isla Murray from North Roe. Huge thanks to Jem, steward Abigail Robertson and gate steward Gemma Irvine for keeping the show running smoothly. The Merkisayre Stud were also awarded with a Bronze Medal from the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society. Thanks to SLMG for the use of the Marts. Special thanks must go Michael Laurenson for arranging to get the pens down in the Marts as without this the show would not have been able to go ahead.
